Making A Better Hiroshima Textbook: Authentic Communication and Communicative Solidarity At The Crossroads of Social Studies Education
This study examines a cross-national project in which Korean and Japanese pre-service teachers co-constructed a “better Hiroshima textbook.” It argues that authentic communication sustains engagement with difficult history, cultivates communicative solidarity, and reorients social studies education toward justice-oriented, relational, and transformative futures.
