When Chatgpt Does The Thinking, What Is Left of Democratic Education? Revisiting Deweyan Democracy

GenerativeAI is reshaping how students think, learn, and participate in classrooms. Drawing on interviews and observations with social studies teachers, this study examines how ChatGPT challenges democratic education. Using a Deweyan lens, it argues that AI alters the conditions of inquiry, raising urgent questions about thinking, participation, and democratic learning.
