Representation Matters: Using Lesson Transcripts To Introduce Core Practices In Preservice Teacher Education
How do representations of practice influence preservice social studies teachers’ learning? By comparing cohorts, this study investigates how decomposing lesson transcripts can support stronger teaching and more substantive peer feedback in subsequent simulations. Preliminary insights highlight the importance of carefully designed representations in the early phases of practice-based teacher education.
