Everyday Christian Nationalism: Examining Christian Nationalist Logics In Teacher Education

Using a Foucauldian discourse analysis, this study examines how preservice teachers leverage Christian nationalist logics within social studies. Findings reveal that candidates employ "neutrality" and "moral stewardship" as discursive technologies to stabilize Christian normativity. This "softening" of nationalism rebrands political education as interpersonal kindness, rendering structural justice unthinkable.
