The Return of The Social Studies Wars: A Critical Discourse Analysis of Public Debate Surrounding Anti-Crt Legislation

This study examines how legislators and professional organizations conceived of social studies during debates over anti-CRT legislation. Using critical discourse analysis, we conclude that legislators argued for and against anti-CRT laws using shared discourses of social studies as citizenship transmission and reflect on implications for the future of the field.
