Preparing Anti-Oppressive Social Studies Teachers: Fusing Social Justice Inquiry With Practice-Based Teacher Education Pedagogy

This single revelatory case study explores to what extent elementary teacher candidates incorporate anti-oppressive social studies into their teaching. Our preliminary findings suggest that fusing social justice and practice-based teacher education pedagogies across two courses - one foundational, one methodological - supports teacher candidates’ learning to implement an anti-oppressive approach.
