Places of Learning/places of Violence: Social Studies Teachers’ Experiences of A School Shooting

In this study, we use difficult knowledge (Britzman, 1998) to analyze interviews of four teachers and two student teachers who survived a mass-casualty school shooting. We explore the incident’s aftermath in their ongoing work and lives. This research has vital implications for the studies of teaching and teacher education.
