Student Agency and Justice At The Center: Teacher Trajectories With Learning Justice-Oriented Discussion Facilitation
This longitudinal mixed methods study investigates how seven teachers practiced justice-oriented social studies discussion facilitation. Findings revealed that all teachers implemented some aspects of content, and experienced different struggles with discourse processes and student outcomes. Portraits of growth and “stuckness” illustrate relational, material, and ideational resources needed to deepen practice.
