Official, Enacted, Experienced: Research of Religion In Social Studies Education
This symposium examines religion across the official, enacted, and experienced curriculum in social studies education, incorporating critical theories alongside research of textbooks, standards, teachers’ instruction, and teachers’ identity. Findings highlight persistent patterns of marginalization alongside moments of resistance that reshape how religion is understood in social studies education.
