Mafalda No Toma Sopa: Intergenerational Agency, Borderlands Consciousness, and The Questions Social Studies Refuses To Swallow

This conceptual case study examines Quino's Mafalda comic strip for theorizing children's agency as an intergenerational phenomenon. Drawing on Anzaldúa's borderlands framework and three thematic compilations, seven child and adult characters reveal that social studies education cannot cultivate agency in children without reckoning with its erosion in adults.
