Learning Together About Classroom Discussion: How Beginning Middle Grades Social Studies Teachers Co-Construct Meaning In An Online Community of Practice

This instrumental case study investigated how beginning middle grades social studies teachers co-constructed knowledge of classroom discussion in an online community of practice over six months. Findings indicate that although teachers’ conceptions were challenged and they found the community valuable, structural limitations affected their ability to change their praxis meaningfully.
