We Keep Us Safe”: Youth Resistance and The Formation of Alternative Civics Education

Drawing on the concept of crawl spaces to illustrate how resistance takes shape from within schools, this critical ethnographic study details how a group of youth organizers circumvented school district policies to create an alternative civic education for their peers that responded to violence and fear in their community.
