Changing History, Continuing Nationalism: The Evolution of Andrew Jackson Children’s Biographies In The Trump Era

This paper analyzes the changes and continuities in narratives of Andrew Jackson’s life in children’s biographies. We extend previous research (Sakowicz, 2016) and add White Christian nationalism as a lens for a critical multimodal analysis of Jackson’s militant masculinity, treatment of Native Americans, and classist politics.
