A Pedagogy of Human Connection: Civic Case Studies In Practice

To move toward healthier civic connections–and a future centering justice, care, community, and transformation–high school civics must foster students’ capacity to listen with empathy and humanize others in the context of civic issues. Here we consider civic case studies as pedagogical tools to foster these civic relational skills.
