The Pop Culture Pedagogy of I Survived: A Qualitative Content Analysis

In this qualitative content analysis of the children’s book series, I Survived, we use Wineburg’s (1991) historical thinking framework and Maudlin and Sandlin’s (2015) framework of pop culture pedagogies to describe the historical knowledge presented in this series and the narratives students may be passively consuming by reading.
